ABOUT US

President / Executive Director

Velma Gay Thompson serves as the foundation's President and Executive Director. Velma's love language has always been "giving" and in 2012, she started giving out her own personal scholarships by providing monthly stipends to five deserving students for the entire four years they were in college. They all graduated in four years, with the last one graduating May 2020. Velma wanted to continue to Give Back, but she wanted to do it on a larger scale. In late July 2020, she figured out how she would continue to Give Back and she created the non-profit foundation, Look Back Give Back Foundation, Inc.

Velma is a licensed attorney and an active duty JAG Officer in the United States Air Force. Her mother and her daughters helped her turn this idea into a reality.

Our Board of Directors are the governing body of our nonprofit. They are responsible for overseeing the organization's activities. The Board members meet periodically to discuss and vote on affairs of the organization.
